Sabuddy Israeli - used to be on University and Hardy. When I lived in Tempe, it was just a couple blocks to walk to. Now it's way out in Scottsdale. This place has the best hummus, falafel, and chicken schwarma ever! And even though Scottsdale is an area I don't frequent, the move did not impact the food - it's still as good as ever.

Unfortunately, the people didn't move with the restaurant. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did in the new location. It was always empty, even during the lunch rush and I didn't feel comfortable eating my cheap babaganoush alone in such a nice setting. I can eat by myself at home for free.
It's such a disappointment this place closed down, especially when they had been doing so well in Tempe. It just goes to show that you can't try to infuse culture in Scottsdale unless you add a couple dollar signs to your price rating. People will drive all the way from their mountain estates if it's hip, shiek, expensive, or exclusive. Good quick food like Sabuddy should have stayed where people who want good, quick and inexpensive food live- the university area.
